General Information

The Warlock is the arcane power-oriented class in Destiny. The Warlock is divided into 3 subclasses: Voidwalker (Void), Sunsinger (Solar) and Stormcaller (Arc). Voidwalkers are the damage dealing, solo-oriented subclass capable of dealing massive AoE damage to their enemies, while Sunsingers are the group-oriented subclass adept at supporting their allies. The Warlock class has slightly lower armor than Titans but more than Hunters. It also has the greatest recovery of all 3 classes.

A Warlock starts off as a Voidwalker, and unlocks Sunsinger at level 15. Note that once you unlock Sunsinger for one character, it will be unlocked for any new Warlock characters you make in the future. Stormcaller was released in The Taken King expansion. It is unlocked after completing the Warlock quest The Stormcaller's Path.

Play Style

Voidwalkers can deal massive AoE damage from a range with a Nova Bomb. They can do more AoE damage with their grenades and Axion Bolts. Additionally, Energy Drain, Voidwalker's melee attack, can buff itself and reduce cooldowns of its other abilities.

Sunsinger's super, Radiance, buffs itself and its allies both offensively and defensively. With the Fireborn perk, Sunsinger can even come back from the dead. Sunsinger can also deal solar and burn DoT damage with its grenades and scorch. Additionally Sunsingers can spawn Orbs of Light for their allies.

Voidwalker

Abilities

Axion Bolt	Grenades	A bolt of Void Light which forks into smaller bolts on impact which seek toward enemies.
Energy Drain	Melee Abilities	A powerful melee attack which drains energy from enemies and uses it to reduce the cooldown of your grenade.
Glide	Jumps	Jump and then press (X) or (A) again while in the air to activate Glide.
Nova Bomb	Supers	Hurl an explosive bolt of Void Light at the enemy, disintegrating those caught within its blast.
Scatter Grenade	Grenades	A grenade that splits into many submunitions and covers a large area with explosions.
Vortex Grenade (Voidwalker)	Grenades	A grenade that creates a vortex which continually damages enemies trapped inside.

Focused Burst	Glide	Upgrades Glide to provide an initial boost of speed.
Focused Control	Glide	Upgrades Glide for better directional control while in air.
Lance	Nova Bomb	Nova Bomb travels farther and faster.
Life Steal	Energy Drain	Killing an enemy with Energy Drain immediately restores a significant portion of your health.
Shatter	Nova Bomb	Nova Bomb splits into three projectiles.
Soul Rip	Energy Drain	Killing an enemy with Energy Drain reduces the cooldown of Nova Bomb.
Surge	Energy Drain	Damaging an enemy with Energy Drain increases movement speed for a short time.
Vortex	Nova Bomb	Nova Bomb creates a Vortex which continually damages enemies trapped inside.

Miscellaneous Perks

	Description
Angry Magic	Nova Bomb tracks enemies. Increases Armor by 1
Annihilate	Increases the size of explosions created by Nova Bomb and grenades. Increases Agility by 1.
Bloom	Enemies killed by any of your abilities explode.
Embrace The Void	Damaging enemies with Nova Bomb or any grenade triggers the Energy Drain effect.
The Hunger	Increases the duration of the Energy Drain effect by 3 seconds.
Vortex Mastery	Increases the range of Axion Bolt seekers and the duration of the Vortex effect of Nova Bomb and Vortex Grenade.

Sunsinger

Abilities

Firebolt Grenade	Grenades	A grenade that unleashes bolts of Solar Light at nearby enemies.
Fusion Grenade (Sunsinger)	Grenades	An explosive grenade that causes bonus damage when attached to its target.
Glide	Jumps	Jump and then press (X) or (A) again while in the air to activate Glide.
Radiance	Supers	Fill yourself with Solar Light, dramatically increasing the effectiveness of all your abilities.
Scorch	Melee Abilities	A powerful melee attack that ignites enemies, causing fire damage over time.
Solar Grenade	Grenades	A grenade that creates a flare of Solar Light which continuously damages enemies trapped inside.

Balanced Glide	Glide	Upgrades Glide to provide bonuses to both speed and control.
Brimstone	Scorch	Killing enemies with Scorch causes them to explode
Fireborn	Radiance	Radiance can now be activated from beyond the grave. Doing so returns you to life.
Flame Shield	Scorch	Killing an enemy with Scorch reduces incoming damage for a short time. Increases armor by 1
Focused Burst	Glide	Upgrades Glide to provide an initial boost of speed.
Focused Control	Glide	Upgrades Glide for better directional control while in air.
Radiant Skin	Radiance	While active, Radiance reduces incoming damage.
Solar Wind	Scorch	Hitting an enemy with Scorch knocks them back.
Song of Flame	Radiance	While active, Radiance reduces all cooldowns for nearby allies.

Miscellaneous Perks

	Description
Angel of Light	Aiming your weapon while in the air holds you in place for a short time. Increases Agility by 1.
Gift of the Sun	Gain an additional grenade.
Radiant Will	Increases the duration of Radiance
Sunburst	Killing an enemy with Scorch has a chance to generate Orbs of Light.
Touch of Flame	All grenades ignite enemies, causing damage over time.
Viking Funeral	Targets afflicted with Ignite take more damage from all sources. Stacks up to 3 times.

Stormcaller

Storm Grenade	Grenades	This grenade calls down a localized lightning storm.
Stormtrance	Supers	Chain Arc Lightning from your hands.

Ionic Blink	Stormtrance	Press L3 to teleport during Stormtrance.
Landfall	Stormtrance	On casting Stormtrance, fire a bolt of lightning into the ground, creating a devastating shockwave under you.
Rising Storm	Thunderstrike	Hits with Thunderstrike charge your Super, Grenade and Melee energy
Superconductor (Perk)	Stormtrance	Doubles your Stormtrance lightning’s chaining capabilities.

Miscellaneous Perks

	Description
Arc Web	Enemies damaged by your grenades chain deadly lightning to nearby enemies.
Electrostatic Mind	Stormtrance charges faster when allies are near. When Stormtrance is active, nearby enemies take damage.
Feedback	Incoming melee attacks fully recharge and intensify your Thunderstrike.
Perpetual Charge	Grenade kills recharge your melee. Melee kills recharge your grenade.
Pulsewave	When critically wounded, trigger a Pulsewave that boosts speed for you and your allies.
Transcendence	When cast with full grenade and Thunderstrike energy, Stormtrance restores your health to full and drains slower.

Note that Voidwalker and Sunsinger share the same Training perks.

Gear

Bonds can be equipped in a special armor slot exclusive to the Warlock class. Bonds allow Warlocks to further customize themselves and show their ranks and accomplishments, while giving minor Armor Upgrades and boosts to General Stats.
