Acolyte are the ranged grunts of Hive. They will fire at the player from medium range with their Shredder or Boomer.

Tactics

Acolytes are weak ranged units of Hive. They will use cover and fire at players with ranged weapons at medium range. They usually don't pose much threat and can be disposed of with a headshot or 2.

Lore

It would be a mistake to view the Hive's Acolytes as foot soldiers, because the Hive is not an army, it is a dark force rising. It is belief and horror, and its Acolytes are the instruments of that horror, hungry to commit the atrocities that will drive their own ascension.
