Hand Cannons are a semi-automatic pistols in Destiny. These Primary Weapons have powerful single shots but limited magazine size. They are ideal for dealing headshots and performing Precision Kills.

Play Style

These are pretty lack-luster in the Beta. Aside from "style", there is little to recommend these over the Scout Rifle, which fills a similar role (high damage, semi-auto deliberate fire). Their mags / cylinders are too small and they don't feel as snappy as Scout Rifles.

As of the Game proper the significantly higher impact than at level Scout Rifles makes them an advisable choice for closer range combat. A steady hand is required to use them properly as they require a the user to bring the enemy into very close range and the low magazine size and long reloads are unforgiving of mistakes at low levels different weapons are advised.
