Walkthrough

Dust Palace

The fireteam starts in The Hollows, just outside of the Dust Palace. Get past the Centurion and Psions to enter the Dust Palace proper. Players will encounter a locked door that Ghost will start unlocking. The room will start to fill with Phalanxes, Legionaries, a Centurion, and a few Psion Operants during this phase. Dispatching them will unlock the first door.

In the next room Vex and Cabal will be fighting each other. Take them all out and start unlocking the next door. Another wave of Vex and Cabal will start appearing on both floors, including two more Centurions and a Psion Operant. The door will open when all enemies are dead. On higher levels there is a turret that deals Solar damage on the stairs that can be used to defeat enemies more quickly.

Overwatch

Fight through the small number of Vex and Cabal to reach the last locked door. As it's being unlocked, more waves of enemies will appear, including two Minotaurs, one Colossus and a Psion Operant.

The Cortex

Boss: Psion Flayers

Kill all the enemies in the final room to summon the Flayers. There are three Centurions, which may group together, making this fight more difficult. Have Ghost activate the console and the three Flayers will appear in three separate locations. Kolar, who has an Arc shield, will appear on the left side. Vatch, who has a solar shield, will appear in the middle. Numoc, who has a void shield, will appear on the right side. Each Flayer has a strong shield and a powerful, long-range psychic attack, so coordinate your attacks well. Every person should have at least one of the three elemental weapons needed to bring down the Flayers' shields.

Meanwhile there will be multiple reinforcement drops, including one every time a Flayer is killed. These typically includes a Colossus dropped by a Harvester on the landing pad. It pays to break off from attacking the Flayers in order to regroup and deal with the reinforcements, as they can easily overwhelm players. It is important to make sure everyone concentrates on the same Flayer and to focus on that one until it is dead, as the Flayer's shields will regenerate quickly and take a lot of damage to bring down.

Speed Run Tips

  • This strike is pretty straight forward and involves a lot of chasing down Psions.
  • Most rooms in this strike are cleared when you finally find and kill the yellow health bar Psion. So try and memorize where they spawn to expedite their deaths.
  • The Flayers: They Flayers are also a big pain just because there are three of them. I have found the most effective way to do them is to just be methodical. First clear the room. Next, focus on one Psion. Once it is dead clear the enemies that spawn and focus on the next Psion and so on and so forth. You entire team should have their full attention on one Psion at a time just to make sure their shields never recharge.
  • To kill them really quickly it is possible to knock them off the edge with rockets, but won't rely on this method.

Psion Flayers

Psion Flayers are superior versions of Cabal Psion type of enemies. Psion Flayers' weakspots is their heads. Fire at them for critical damage.

Attacks

Rifle: Rifle fire is Psion's primary attack

Psionic Blast Wave:This attack is a powerful wave that travels towards a player along the ground. The wave deals damage to all players in its path. Players can either move out of its way or time their jumps to jump over it. When Psion levitates with its arms to its sides, it is about to use the attack.

Strategy

Psion Flayers are quite quick and nimble. They will use attempt to dodge your attacks and use cover. Each Flayer has a different type of shield. Vatch has Solar shield, Kolar has Arc shield and Numoc has Void shield. A team of players with weapons of various types of damage might be handy.

Because Psion Flayers are fast and nimble, rapidly firing weapons such as Auto Rifles and Machine Guns might be effective against them. The boss room is also quite wide-open, long range weapons can be employed.

When Psions hide behind cover, you can use grenades and other explosives to force them out. You can also double team them with your teammates to get them out of cover. Your entire fireteam should focus on killing 1 Flayer at a time. Without focus fire, you can perpetually allowing the bosses to regenerate their shields.

As waves of Cabal adds spawn, do not allow them to overwhelm you. You can use Sniper Rifles to kill some adds from far away before going back to the boss.

  • When your teammates are dead or when you're heavily damage, sprint and jump to the other side of the courtyard to regain health and wait for teammates to respawn.

Tips and Tricks

A Titan Striker Fist of Havoc attack executed while a Psion Flayer is near the edge of a platform can push it over to its death, even when it has full health and shields.
