Hawkmoon is a level 20 Exotic Hand Cannon exclusive to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 players. Hawkmoon can be obtained through high level PvE and PvP activities such as Heroic and Nightfall Strikes, Raids, Legendary Engrams and Crucible. The drop chance is random and very low. It will become available to all Xbox consoles on 9/15/2015, the release date of The Taken King

Unique Upgrade: Holding Aces - Two more random bullets in your magazine deal considerable bonus damage.

Tips and Tricks

Pros

  • Three random bullets give considerable bonus damage, potentially killing your enemies with two shots.
  • Head shot damage is significantly more than other hand cannons.
  • Magazine size
  • all three "lucky shots" can line up on the same shot and 1 hit body shot someone but the odds of that happening are slim

History

After the release of The Dark Below, Attack of the weapon was increased from 274-300 to 302-331. Players can upgrade old versions of the weapon into the new one by visiting Xur and paying 1 Exotic Shard and some Glimmer.It is now cable of being ascended by using Glimmer Exotic Shard and Spirit Bloom the max damage after the House Of Wolves the Attack was increased from 334-365

Trivia

Hawkmoon is a possible reference to the Michael Moorcock fantasy novel of the same name or the character of the same name who is prominent in the Eternal Champions series.
