Strange Coin is a currency item used to purchase Exotic items from Agent of the Nine.
Acquired By
- Obtained in Wrath of the Machine
- Acquired through Weekly Heroic Strikes. It awards 3 coins for each completion. It is the only guaranteed way of getting it. Players can acquire 9 Strange Coins per week by completing Weekly Heroic Strike on all 3 difficulties.
- Players can also obtain them through Weekly Nightfall Strikes, although this method does not guarantee Strange Coins.
- Players can obtain a Strange Coin by finding 4 Gold Chests on Mars.
- Awarded for getting Gold medal rank in Public Event. You are only guaranteed to obtain a Strange Coin or Mote of Light once per day. The reward is mailed to your Postmaster. Additional Gold medal completions of Public Event has a small chance of granting additional Strange Coins.
- Awarded from Faction Reputation packages. (Random)
- Completing Vanguard and Crucible Bounties. (Random)
- 2 - 3 Strange Coins from completing each secret patrol mission.
Used For
- Purchase Exotic weapons, armor, engrams, consumables and Vehicle Upgrades from Xur, Agent of the Nine.
