Description	The story of Tex Mechanica's contest for a shotgun with a long history.

Jolly Holliday is a level 40 Exotic Quest. Players are awarded The Chaperone an Exotic Shotgun for completing this quest. Players can talk to Amanda Holliday to obtain this quest after completing The Taken King (Quest). You also need to be at least Rank 3 with Crucible.

Step 1: Shindig in the Crucible

Task: Defeat Guardians in the Crucible with The Last Word equipped to boost your favor with Tex Mechanica.

Quote: "Come one, come all, to Tex Mechanica's first Shotgun Extravaganza! The prize is the finest shotgun in all the system—based on a design by the Tower's own Amanda Holliday!" —S. Barnes Davis, Tex Mechanica

Objective: Obtain 1500 Renown in the Crucible.

Rewards: Crucible Reputation, Experience

Tips: Players do not need to get kills with The Last Word, just have it equipped. Any killstreaks (single kills dont count) in Crucible with supers, grenades, Heavy Weapons and Special Weapons count (TLW needs to be equipped). Normal kills with the The Last Word grant 1%, Headshot kills grant 2%, Killstreaks give bonus %. Death subtracts 2%.

• If TLW is unequipped, you are not penalized for dying. You can keep the weapon unequipped then equip it when your super is ready for some easy kills and points.

• Players also get 3% per win. You don't need to have The Last Word equipped, when your team is about to win, equip the weapon. It takes 34 wins to do it from scratch. Useful if you have trouble with K/D.

• Play objective based games, so people aren't only focusing on killing you.

• Note that this step can be completed in Sparrow Racing League, just have your TLW equipped.

Step 2: Talk to Amanda

Task: Speak to Amanda Holliday in the Tower Hangar.

Quote: "Great job in the Crucible! Now, I'm biased because I'm your Ghost, but if I was Tex Mechanica I'd give you that prize shotgun for sure!" —Ghost

Step 3: Fiscal Persuasion

Task: Purchase a "generous donation" for Tex Mechanica from Cryptarch Master Rahool in the Tower Plaza.

Quote: "My system diagnostics are all positive. Wow. Okay, I guess I'm not malfunctioning. We really are bribing Tex Mechanica to win their shotgun competition." —Ghost

Objective: Go to The Last City, Earth.

Rewards: Cryptarch Reputation, Experience

Tips: Purchase a Generous Donation for 15,000 glimmer from Cryptarch.

Step 4: Talk to Amanda

Task: Bring the "donation" to Amanda Holliday.

Quote: "Step right up, Guardians, step right up for round two of Tex Mechanica's Shotgun Extravaganza! Prove your skill with the weapon of heroes to win the finest shotgun around, and discover its tragic history!" —S. Barnes Davis, Tex Mechanica

Step 5: Buckshot Bruiser

Task: Use a Shotgun to defeat Guardians in the Crucible and high-level minions of the Darkness.

Quote: "This Tex Mechanica contest is rough, but I promise you, the prize is worth it. I based the design on a shotgun my mama had when we were refugees on the road to the City. We called it 'The Chaperone.'" —Amanda Holliday

Objective: Obtain 500 Renown with Shotguns.

Rewards: Crucible Reputation, Vanguard Reputation, Experience

Tips: Each kill in Crucible with a shotgun grants 3%. You do not lose any points by dying in the Crucible. Yellow bar enemies in PvE grant you around 0.25-0.5% for each kill with a Shotgun. The yellow bar bosses in PvE like the Daily Heroic bosses (Lightlevel 240+) grant you 6% for a kill with the Shotgun.

Step 6: Visit Amanda

Task: Speak to Amanda Holliday in the Tower Hangar.

Quote: "We were some of the last refugees to make it to the City. Yeah, yeah, I've heard all the jokes. Know what? We did get lost. Many times. It wasn't all that funny at the time. My mama's shotgun, The Chaperone, was the only reason I made it here." —Amanda Holliday

Step 7: Two for the Road

Task: Use a shotgun to defeat the Shield Brothers on the Dreadnaught.

Quote: "Valus Mau'ual and Valus Tlu'urn. Scouts have nicknamed them the Shield Brothers. Currently commanding the Cabal on Oryx's Dreadnaught, they are also the unwitting targets for this round of the Tex Mechanica shotgun contest. This will not be easy." —Ghost

Objective: Defeat Valus Mau'ual in Dreadnaught, Rings of Saturn. Defeat Valus Tlu'urn in Dreadnaught, Rings of Saturn.

Rewards: Vanguard Reputation, Experience

Tips: Complete Shield Brothers strike. Recommended Light is 290; minimum light is 250. Bring down both Brothers to 2-5% with any weapon you want then use a shotgun to kill both brothers. Both Brothers must be killed with a Shotgun or it won't count!

Step 8: Talk to Amanda

Task: Speak to Amanda Holliday in the Tower Hangar.

Quote: "The contest prize isn't an exact replica of the original Chaperone, of course. It'll be much more powerful, packed with top-notch Tex Mechanica engineering. But I did its visual design, and I replicated my mama's old shotgun down to the tiniest piece of tracery." —Amanda Holliday
