Nightstalker using Shadowshot
See also: Nightstalker (Achievement)

Nightstalker is the void Hunter subclass that will come with The Taken King, Destiny's 3rd expansion. Nightstalker's super, Shadowshot, tethers a large group of foes to a Void Anchor, slowing and suppressing them for your Fireteam.

  • Nightstalker is the support subclass for Hunter.

Nightstalker is unlocked after completing the Hunter quest The Nightstalker's Trail. Players can obtain the quest from Hunter Vanguard in The Tower. To unlock the quest, players need to complete prerequisite Hunter Quests.

Shadowshot (Super) - Tether foes to a Void Anchor, slowing, weakening and suppressing them for you and your allies.

Smoke (Melee) - Throw Smoke to slow and disorient those trapped in its cloud.

Voidwall Grenade (Grenade) - Grenade explosion creates a horizontal wall of burning Void Light.

Nightstalker Builds

Recommended Stats

Intellect > Strength > Discipline

  • Intellect is the main stat. Shadowshot is the defining trait of a Nightstalker, whether using it for add control, PvP kills, or the damage buff, you want to use it as often as possible. Strength is the secondary support stat, mainly a priority to get those Vanish in Smoke’s ready ASAP. Also a huge deal when running Grasps or a Control build in PvP. Whether invis, damage, or trapping, Smoke is a powerful tool for the Nightstalker. Discipline is almost equal to Strength, choose this for a higher-damage lower-support build. However since all three grenades require non-moving targets, they are best pared with a smoke to get the full effect. Honestly I wouldn’t have this CD be lower than smokes for that reason.

Recommended Gear

“Draw from the Void. Light the way.”

All Hunters master the frontier, but none claim territory quite like a Nightstalker. Shadowshot binding may seem more merciful than gun or blade… until the feeding frenzy begins.
