Ascendant Energy is a Rare Material. It is used to unlock Upgrade Damage for Legendary and Exotic weapons.

• Ascendant Energy's Upgrade Defense counterpart is the Ascendant Shard.

• Awarded for getting Gold medal rank in Public Event. You are only guaranteed to obtain a Ascendant Energy or Ascendant Shard once per day. The reward is mailed to your Postmaster.

• Dismantling Legendary and Exotic weapons and armor.

• Daily Heroic Mission, the level 24 one will reward you with 1 Ascendant Shard or Energy and the level 28 one will reward you with 2.

• Weekly Nightfall Strike

• Vault of Glass.

• It is a material used to unlock Upgrade Damage for Legendary and Exotic weapons. Upgrade Damage will increase that weapon's damage and light stats.
