Features

Automatically Received: After downloading and installing Update 2.4.0, all players will automatically receive the Rise of Iron Record Book in the Progress tab of the Character Inventory menu. After September 20, 2016, the Record Book will be available to unseal and progress through for players that own Destiny: Rise of Iron.

New Inventory Space: Record Books now have a special set of slots that they occupy in the Progress tab. The Rise of Iron Record Book will be in the primary slot and any additional Record Books that a player owns from previous events will be automatically added to and stored in the lower slots.

Progress Cannot Be Lost: Progress through the Rise of Iron Record Book is tied to a player's account. As such, players will not lose progress in their Rise of Iron Record Book if they delete a Character. Additionally, the Record Book cannot be discarded and unclaimed rewards cannot be lost from the reward queue. Progress is shared across a player's account and most Milestones can be completed across different Characters.

Unsealing the Record Book

Each Character will need to unseal their Rise of Iron Record Book before being able to view the Milestones within.

Requirements to Unseal

To unseal the Rise of Iron Record Book, each Character will need to inspect the Record Book from the Progress tab in the Character Inventory screen. Players must own Destiny: Rise of Iron to be eligible to unseal the Rise of Iron Record Book. Additionally, each Character must be Level 40 to unseal the Record Book in their Inventory.

How to Unseal

The Record Book can be inspected by pressing the Triangle (PlayStation™) or Y (Xbox™) button while the cursor is over the Record Book icon. After inspecting the Record Book, player will need to hold the X (PlayStation™) or A (Xbox™) button to unseal the Record Book.

Progress Before Unsealing

All progress gained on a Character before unsealing the Record Book will still be tracked within the Record Book and all progress is shared between Characters on an account. If a Character is deleted prior to unsealing the Rise of Iron Record Book, any progress they made on Rise of Iron Milestones will still be tracked within the Record Book.

Completing Milestones

The Milestones within the Rise of Iron Record Book track a variety of achievements that can be completed by progressing though the Rise of Iron campaign and activities.

Completion Notification

Once the requirements for a Milestone has been met, players will receive a notification in real-time indicating that a Milestone has been unlocked in the Record Book. Players must then inspect the Record Book and manually complete the Milestone to progress their rank and qualify for rewards.

Milestone Requirements

The Rise of Iron Milestones, and their listed requirements, can be found on Page 2 through 5 of the Record Book. Each page of the Record Book is dedicated to different aspects of Destiny: Rise of Iron, such as the Rise of Iron campaign, the Wrath of the Machine raid, the Plaguelands activities, and Crucible activities.

Scrambled Text

Some Milestones will appear with scrambled text, such as "???", in their titles and requirement descriptions. As soon as any progress is made towards the Milestone, the text will unscramble within the Record Book.

Claiming Reward

By completing Milestones in the Rise of Iron Record Book, players will gain ranks in the Record Book and earn rewards.

Ranked Rewards

The available rewards to be earned from gaining ranks in the Rise of Iron Record Book can be found and previewed on Page 1 of the Record Book. Starting at Rank 2, players will unlock rewards for each rank gained until the Record Book is completed at Rank 24.

Reward Queue

Earned rewards will appear in a queue on Page 1 of the Record Book and will remain stored in the queue until they are claimed, even if a player logs out of Destiny or a Character is deleted. The reward queue will display rewards in the order that they were earned up to a maximum of six rewards. If a player has more than six earned rewards waiting to be claimed, they will need to claim the visible rewards to access the rest.

Spoils of War

For each rank gained that does not have a displayed reward on Page 1, players will receive a Spoils of War package which contains the following: one Three of Coins, two Strange Coins, one Vanguard Reputation Booster, one Crucible Reputation Booster, and a random selection of Planetary Materials.

Armor Package

Armor rewards earned from the Rise of Iron Record Book are awarded from Armor Packages. Once an Armor Package is redeemed from the reward queue, it will be deposited in the player's Materials and, when opened, will grant the player the designated Armor piece for each of the three character classes.

Recovering Rewards

Once players have earned a reward, they are able to recover most of their rewards in the event that they have discarded or lost access to one of the items.

Requirements for Recovery

Players can recover eligible rewards from Page 1 of the Record Book as long as they do not currently have the targeted reward in their Character Inventory. All earned rewards must first be claimed from the reward queue before players can attempt to recover the rewards from Page 1 of the Record Book.

Items Eligible for Recovery

Some rewards are not eligible for recovery, such as the Days of Iron Ornament or Spoils of War packages. Rewards that are ineligible for recovery, that are already in a player's Inventory, or that have not yet been earned will display a notification explaining why they cannot be recovered when the player moves the cursor over the targeted reward on Page 1 of the Rise of Iron Record Book.

Recovering Items

Armor and Weapons recovered from the Record Book will be awarded in the same packages or single item rewards that they were originally gained from, but will be at Light Level 3 and will always come with the same set of stats and perks. In addition to being recoverable from the Record Book, the Shaders, Ships, and Emblems may also be recovered from their respective Item Collections kiosk in the Tower if deleted or discarded.
